What Ubiquiti WiFiman costs
Nothing. WiFiman is free to download, its App Store listing carries no in-app purchase section at all, and Ubiquiti’s help centre says the app is free on every platform it ships to. This is a short page, because there is not much to say when the answer is a flat zero. What is worth a page is the second half of the question: some of WiFiman is gated, and the gate is hardware rather than money. Everything below is from Ubiquiti’s own help centre and from the App Store listing, both read on 2026-08-25.

Free. The App Store price field reads Free, and the listing describes the app as free-to-use and ad-free.
Paid tiers
None. There is no subscription, no unlock and no premium level named anywhere Ubiquiti publishes.

Not applicable. A trial only exists where something is being sold afterwards, and nothing is.
Ubiquiti’s help centre states that WiFiman can be downloaded for free for iOS, Android and Desktop. It names no price for anything.
The in-app-purchase list is not empty — it is absent
This distinction matters more than it sounds, and it is the reason this page exists rather than being a single sentence on the comparison.
An App Store listing for an app that sells nothing carries no In-App Purchases section. An App Store listing for an app that sells something carries one, generated by Apple from what the developer currently offers, whether or not the developer has documented it anywhere. That generated list is where undocumented tiers surface — a plan named in no help centre, a legacy price still on sale, a figure that does not match the developer’s own website.
WiFiman’s listing has no such section. There is nothing to reconcile against Ubiquiti’s published material, because Ubiquiti sells nothing through the app. On a site whose recurring finding is that the App Store list and the developer’s own pages disagree, an app with no list at all is the clean case.
What is gated, and it is not money
Free does not mean every part of the app works for every person who installs it. Ubiquiti’s help centre sets out which features need what, and the requirement is equipment.
Speed testing works on any connected network. Wireless connection metrics require a UniFi Gateway. Teleport VPN requires a UniFi Gateway. UniFi device discovery has no stated hardware requirement on that page.
The help centre also draws a platform line: the WiFiman Desktop app supports only UniFi device discovery and Teleport VPN, and all other features are described as available on the mobile app only.
So the practical answer to what WiFiman costs is that the app costs nothing and two of its named features cost whatever a UniFi Gateway costs, which Ubiquiti prices as hardware elsewhere and which this page does not cover. Someone with no Ubiquiti equipment gets a free scanner and speed tester. Someone already running UniFi gear gets the rest at no additional charge, because they have already paid for it in a different aisle.
None of this is hidden. It is stated on the help-centre page in the same table as the feature list. It is worth naming here only because a reader arriving at the question “what does WiFiman cost” is usually deciding between apps, and a free app whose distinguishing features need a specific vendor’s router is not free in the way the price field implies.
What we couldn’t determine
- Whether Ubiquiti publishes a dedicated WiFiman product page stating the price. The help-centre article is the only Ubiquiti page found that names the cost, and ui.com links WiFiman as a tool without describing or pricing it
- Whether the app requires a Ubiquiti account for any feature. The App Store listing does not state that an account is needed for general use, and the help-centre article does not mention an account requirement either way
- Whether the feature-by-hardware list on the help-centre page is exhaustive, or whether other features vary by equipment without being listed
- Whether any WiFiman feature is restricted by country, which no Ubiquiti page consulted addresses
- Whether Ubiquiti intends to introduce a paid tier. Nothing published suggests one, and the absence of an in-app-purchase section only establishes what is true today
