Privacy

AppMatchup is a static website. It has no accounts, no logins, no forms, no newsletter and no comments, so there is nothing to submit and nothing stored about you by this site directly. What follows covers the two third parties involved in serving and measuring it.

What this site collects directly

Nothing. There are no accounts and no sign-in. There are no forms, no newsletter, no comments, and no user-submitted content of any kind. There is nowhere on this site to enter information, so none is collected here.

Analytics

There are two third-party scripts on the site: Google Analytics 4, covered here, and Google AdSense, covered in the next section. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies in your browser and reports which pages were viewed, an approximate location derived from your IP address, the type of device and browser used, and how visitors arrived at the site. Google truncates IP addresses.

Google’s handling of that data is covered by Google’s privacy policy. If you would rather not be measured at all, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on.

Advertising

Google AdSense code is present on every page of this site.

Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this site or to other sites.

You can control ad personalisation at Google’s Ads Settings. How Google uses cookies in advertising is described at Google’s advertising technologies page.

Third-party vendors and ad networks may also set their own cookies. Those are not set by this site and are not under its control.

Hosting

The site is served by GitHub Pages, which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, as part of delivering the pages. What GitHub does with those is covered by the GitHub general privacy statement.

Cookies

The cookies set here come from the two Google services described above: the Google Analytics cookies, and the advertising cookies used by Google and its partners to serve and measure ads. Other ad networks involved in serving an ad may set cookies of their own. This site sets none of its own.

You can block or clear them in your browser settings without affecting the site. Nothing here requires a cookie to work — there is nothing to log in to and nothing to remember between visits.

Comparison pages link out to App Store listings and to developers’ own pages. Links to other developers’ apps are plain, with no affiliate codes and no tracking parameters, and we receive nothing if you follow one. Links to apps published by Fogarty Holdings LLC carry an Apple campaign token, which reports how many installs came from this site and nothing about you personally. Pages featuring one of our own apps also show an App Store banner when opened in Safari on an iPhone.

Those sites are run by other people and have their own privacy policies, which govern what happens once you arrive.

Changes and contact

If the site’s data practices change, this policy will be updated to match, and the date below will change with it.
