If you work across Apple devices and want scan history that syncs between them, IP Scanner is built for that — but it needs a much newer version of iOS than iNet does. If you want to reach the devices you find, over SSH or VNC, or you want the app in your own language, iNet covers more ground.

Where each one fits
IP Scanner saves past scans, supports custom device lists and syncs via iCloud, and the developer sells IP Scanner Ultra at $39.99 bundling Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch and Vision Pro apps. Three things sit against that. It requires iOS 26 where iNet runs on 15.0, which rules out older devices. Its free version identifies up to 15 devices at a time, with unlimited devices behind an in-app Pro upgrade. And it is listed in English only.
iNet lists remote access and control the other does not — SSH, VNC and HTTP connections, remote sleep, shutdown and restart of Macs, and SSH commands — along with CSV and PDF export, 16 languages, and an iOS 15.0 floor. Against that, it lists no saved scan history and no sync, and its free version is scanner-only, with the other listed features behind an in-app purchase.
What we couldn’t verify
These are questions the published sources do not answer. They are listed here unresolved rather than guessed at.
- What either app’s in-app unlock costs; neither listing publishes a price
- What IP Scanner’s free version does with devices beyond the fifteenth on a larger network — the listing says it identifies up to 15 at a time without saying what happens to the rest
- Whether IP Scanner’s iOS app includes the Bonjour service discovery and IPv6 support described on the developer’s site, which its App Store description doesn’t list
- Whether iNet’s in-app purchases total more or less than iNet Pro, the developer’s separate paid listing
- How either app performs in practice, which no published source establishes
