Contacts+ vs. CircleBack

Contacts+ is published by FullContact Inc. and has been on the App Store since 2012-12-06. CircleBack is published by CircleBack, Inc. and has been available since 2015-01-29. Both are address book managers rather than CRMs — they clean up, merge, enrich and sync the contacts you already have. This comparison is built from what each developer publishes — App Store listings and Contacts+ own pricing page — with every claim sourced and anything unverifiable listed as such.

Everything below comes from published sources, checked on 2026-08-12 and linked in each section. Where the sources don’t answer a question, it’s listed under What we couldn’t verify rather than guessed at.

Contacts+

A cloud address book that merges duplicates, enriches contacts from the web and syncs across accounts, with a free tier and paid plans.

CircleBack

An address book manager that updates contacts as people change jobs and finds new ones in your email signatures.

Both do the same job, and on paper CircleBack does more of it — finding contacts in your inbox, recovering deleted ones, exporting to Salesforce. But Contacts+ tells you what it costs and CircleBack doesn’t publish a price anywhere. If you want to know what you’re signing up for before you sign up, that is the difference.

Sources for this section: Contacts+ App Store listing, Contacts+ pricing page, and CircleBack App Store listing. All three were checked on 2026-08-12. Published feature lists change — check the current pages before relying on any row above. A heavier amber rule marks a row where the two apps meaningfully differ.

Where each one fits

Contacts+ publishes a free tier at 1,000 contacts with no card, prices its paid plans transparently per user, ships web and Android clients alongside iOS, and has the lower iOS floor at 15.0 against CircleBack’s 17.6. Against that, its listing does not mention exporting to other systems, and its enrichment pulls from the open web rather than from your own inbox. Mesh puts the same 1,000-contact ceiling behind a credit card in Dex vs. Mesh.

CircleBack has the more capable feature list on paper — finding new contacts in email signatures, updating them as people change jobs, recovering deleted contacts, and exporting to Salesforce and ACT!. Against that, no price is published anywhere, its own pricing URL redirects to a different product, and it requires iOS 17.6. Where that redirect ends is documented separately.

What we couldn’t verify

These are questions the published sources do not answer. They are listed here unresolved rather than guessed at.

  • What CircleBack costs, or whether it has a paid tier at all; its listing names no figure and its pricing page redirects off-site
  • What CircleBack’s free tier includes or limits
  • Why circleback.com’s pricing page redirects to scanbizcards.com, and what relationship exists between the two products
  • Whether Contacts+ enrichment can be turned off, which its listing does not state
  • How accurate either app’s automatic contact updating is in practice, which no published source establishes

Ownership disclosure

AppMatchup is operated by Fogarty Holdings LLC, which publishes its own iOS apps.

Neither app on this page is one of them. Contacts+ and CircleBack are published by FullContact Inc. and CircleBack, Inc. respectively, and Fogarty Holdings LLC has no stake in either.

Where a comparison on this site does include an app published by Fogarty Holdings LLC, that fact is labeled on that comparison page itself, next to the app it concerns.
